The president reported Theodore Roosevelt Jr. remains in stable condition in Groton Mass. The illness is not changing rapidly and the outcome remains uncertain for several days. The White House message says Roy is holding his own and the president will not return to Washington soon.
President Roosevelt arrived at Groton School to find Theodore Jr and two classmates with pneumonia. The president stayed to monitor his son as the school dismissed and sent 150 boys home. Doctors monitor the illness while Mrs Roosevelt attends and the family stays with instructor William Amory Gardner.
A sixteen year old Nora Fuller vanished January 11 and was found dead in 2211 Sutton Street. Police suspect strangulation or poisoning as autopsy shows non natural death while fingerprints on the neck hint at foul play. Authorities link suspect aliases Bennett and Hawkins, both described as four years old, six feet tall with a reddish mustache, surnames possibly masking one man. A motive may involve a quarrel or fear of exposure.
A Lake Erie & Western freight locomotive boiler exploded while stationary near St Marys Lima. Fireman Floyd Brown and Engineer Edward Casey died from injuries after the blast. Several cars were wrecked and the cause is blamed on a defective crown sheet.
George Moore aged 36 and James Easter aged 29, Beaver Creek locals, forced entry at Uncle Andy Huff's home in Mayking Ky. After beating Huff senior, his son William Huff 21 shot Moore dead then wounded Easter in the left breast. Both assailants killed. Huff senior likely to die.

In Louisville two ancient saints St. Magnus and St. Boyesa were buried at St. Martin's Church this afternoon. Discovered in Rome catacombs in 1700, the relics were kept by Italian sisters until last summer when Rt. Rev. Mgr. Francis Zabler entrusted them to the church. St. Magnus was a Roman centurion and St. Bonosa a Roman virgin.

In Paris on February 9 Radha and Cordina Hindu twins were separated by Dr. Doyon after a twenty minute procedure. The operation was successful though one twin suffered thrush and was weak, leaving the final outcome uncertain.

Strong flames sweep through commercial streets causing widespread destruction and urging relief efforts from aid agencies and local authorities. Firefighters battled the blaze for hours as the city faced massive losses and an urgent call for shelter and reconstruction assistance.
