In Elkhart Indiana on February 7 two boys Donald Baker nine and Charlies Baker eleven died by drowning in an icy northern gravel pit. Lawson dies in Boston after operation at hospital

Thomas W. Lawson financier author and sportsman died in a Boston hospital after a bladder complication. He was 67 and had begun insulin treatment in December. Tragedy at Arden Station As Man Killed Racing Freight Train

Alvie E. Warner aged 25 of 888 Clinton street was killed near Arden Station between Fernbank and Sayler Park while allegedly attempting to race a fast freight bound for Cincinnati from St. Louis. Witnesses vary on whether he stepped into the tracks or ran toward the locomotive as the train approached. Two girls identified as Margaret Nairs and Mary Richardson fled the scene after the collision. The train crew included conductor William Kellogg engineer Ralph Whykoos and fireman William Haynes.
