London police report the death of Adam Worth alias Harry Raymond at his Regent Park apartments after a life tied to bank robberies. He was long linked to the Gainsborough theft rumors though London authorities had not confirmed his participation.

Details of the Gainsborough painting recovery are released, including Worth’s long plot from London to Paris and finally America where the canvas hid aboard his steam yacht for fifteen years. William A. Pinkerton had kept silent until Worth’s death.
