Prof George Edgar Vincent has been chosen president of the University of Minnesota. He has twenty years in education and was born in Rockford Illinois on March 21 1864. He studied at Yale and worked as literary editor of The Chautauqua Press in 1886. He joined the University of Chicago sociology fellowship in 1892 and has served as dean of arts literature and science since 1907.
Seventy three more indictments were returned today as the grand jury probes vote selling in Adams county under Judge A Z Blair. One school district will have no voters left tomorrow afternoon as every male citizen has been indicted.

Judge Baker overruled defense demurrers arguing unconstitutionality, with District Attorney St. Clair Adams seeking the main prosecution. Calvin Nash, 22, is in custody on a murder charge after allegedly shooting his brother Samuel Nash, 20, following a trivial quarrel in Whitesburg Kentucky. He reportedly attempted suicide after the shooting.

The bank was taken over by the state banking department and Robin faces bail of 25000 or jail awaiting trial or sanity ruling. Indictments may widen as investigations touch multiple institutions and dozens of individuals.
New York December 2 Giacomo Crimi was formally charged with kidnapping after a 6 year old boy Giuseppe Di Stefano picked him out of a suspect lineup Crimi held to the grand jury in default of 5000 bail. Police raid in the Sicilian quarter netted eighteen arrests.
The Comptroller of the Currency ordered all 7,200 national banks to install a uniform bookkeeping system after the Quanah National Bank in Texas failed. Investigators found misleading records, insolvent status for two years, and stockholder payouts from diminished capital. Examiners must report exact conditions by telegraph and give banks 30 days to install proper books.
In Columbus on December 29 Judges elect Maurice H. Donahue and James Johnson were sworn in by Chief Justice Elect William T. Spear. Donahue of Lexington and Johnson of Springfield will each serve six year terms succeeding Augustus Summers of Springfield and William B. Crew of McConnelsville. Crew will move to Cleveland to practice law while Summers returns to Springfield.
