Avondale Synagogue to Rise at Reading and Lexington

The Avondale Synagogue Congregation plans a new building at the northeast corner of Reading road and Lexington avenue. Expected occupancy late in 1926, the temple includes a 1500 seat main auditorium and a 600 seat secondary hall with stage. Facilities include classrooms, kitchen, library, rabbi’s study rooms, and superintendent apartment. Reading road frontage features six 36 foot Corinthian columns and an Italian marble shrine in a classic design. Oscar Schwartz is the architect.

Michael Streit marter purchased the three apartment brick building at 23 Daniels Street Corryville from Peter and Anna Brath. The Jerome M. Jackson Realty Company handled the sale and the price was not disclosed.

Attempted kidnapping case shocks Hamilton neighborhood

John Bierlein of Madisonville Cincinnati was released on $5,000 bond after being charged with attempted kidnaping and assault. He allegedly tried to seize six year old Joseph Hare near St. Peter's School. Miss Catherine Hare, foster mother, and legal actions involving the boy were noted in court records.
