Charles Raymond Fosdick died in Washington at seventy after a long illness. A Cincinnati resident for years and Mercantile Library founder, he was the first internal revenue assessor for Cincinnati in 1862. In Greencastle Indiana last week Alexander G Broadstreet won a divorce from Millie F Broadstreet on statutory grounds. Millie F Broadstreet today filed a petition claiming Broadstreet threatened to kill her if she did not admit intimacy with Theodore Bees, saying she gave the statement under fear and asking the decree set aside. Judge McGregor of the Putnam County Circuit Court ordered the divorce decree set aside.
Governor Worthington pardoned Jo Brown of this county for the killing of Polk Moffett on Christmas Eve 1898. Brown has never been convicted and is out on $4 000 bail after a trial last April yielded a ten year verdict later set aside by Judge Carroll.
William E. Valentine pleaded guilty in Kings County Court to forgery in the second degree and abduction. He led a gang of forgers whose operations spanned the United States and Canada, with an estimated $2,000,000 involved.
William H. Heller, 33, a Bryan advocate from Wilmington Delaware, was taken to Athens Asylum after showing signs of lunacy weeks before the election. He believed God inspired him to solve the silver issue and became violent upon McKinley’s victory, insisting Bryan had won.
Dayton Ohio December 8 at 11 oclock tonight the jury in the Miller Niswenger murder case had not reached a verdict Judge Brown arranged quarters at the Phillips House where the jury is guarded by Bailiff Bees and retired for the night.

Louisville Dec 8 The National Wholesale Liquor Dealers Association failed to win Kentucky Distillers Association support for a bill stopping bottling of rectified or leaded spirits in bond. Distillers of Bourbon whisky said they would not aid in securing an indorsement of spirits and high wines as whisky.
In Huntington Indiana a hotel night clerk W L Phillips died of neuralgia of the heart after claiming multiple wives and relatives. A woman from Elmwood Place Ohio identified a deformity on his little finger as a possible clue to his identity while authorities await more word from Mrs Rachel Phillips.
Kate Leary widow of bank thief Red Leary was buried at Gravesend Cemetery without services. Destitute at death, her funeral was paid by friends. she spent about 500000 from crimes on lavish living. She died at 50 in a Coney Island hovel after decades of association with major criminals and prison time.
