Two women claimed owners were Miss Taiman Church and Miss Anne Ross, aged 55 and 47, released on bond after questioning. Neighbors had complained.
Oliver D. Street United States Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama and a Republican has sent his resignation to Attorney General McReynolds. He says there is no dissatisfaction but that he is willing to yield to a Democratic successor.

In Waukegan Illinois a jury convicted five Volo women Emma Stadfield Levina Raymond Alma Watson Mary Sabel for riding Mrs. John Richardson on a rail in July over gossip ties to her brother in law. Each faces up to 200 dollars fine and six months in jail. Kate Wagner freed for leaving before verdict. Civil suit for 100000 dollars pending. Edward Krepels indicted but disappeared.
Colonel Theodore Roosevelt departed Buenos Aires for Paraguay after a warm farewell at the railway station from the President’s aide and several officials.
