The Arcadia Hotel in Boston’s South End burned this morning killing about twenty men. Responders found ten to fifteen bodies on the fourth floor and seven or eight on the fifth. Ambulances carried numerous injured to hospitals as residents escaped via roofs, ladders, and nets. Loss is about $20,000. cause unknown.

Shelbyville Indiana December 2 defense argues Dr William B Craig killed Dr Helene Knabe might have died by her own hand in a death struggle. Henry N Spaan says Craig was persecuted and could be proven elsewhere at night. four doctors testified to wounds on Knabe with the defense contending the throat wound and arm slash could be self inflicted during a convulsive death struggle.
