Won hands down the Democrats of Ohio choose John R McLean as their standard bearer for the state ticket in the upcoming election. The convention endorsed McLean amid party unity and called for broad support across the party.
In Zanesville Ohio August 30 1900 4000 people packed Memorial Hall for a Democratic gubernatorial convention. Bryan appeared in blue silk as the crowd heard speeches on trusts tariff and imperialism. The controversy over seating delegates continued with McLean and Kilbourne factions and a test vote on the minority vs majority credentials reports.
