Auto Tragedy As Freight Train Strikes Car At Lockland Crossing
Two young men, Sewell Lef and Ellis Herring, both 21 and 22, died when their touring car was hit by a three car freight train on the Wyoming avenue crossing in Lockland. A female passenger, Miss Carnett 17, was severely injured. Engineer T J Flannigan and fireman B J Mann described the fatal impact and the post crash rescue. The victims lived on Central avenue Lockland and the injured girl was taken to Dr D W Cavanaugh's office in a compound fracture case.
