Britton T. Day awoke to the car running in the garage at his Lake Shore boulevard summer home in Cleveland and found his wife Ula Day 53 dead at the steering wheel. Officials believe monoxide gas fumes caused the death. Day is president of a marine supply company bearing his name.

John J. Dowd, head of the Central Strike Committee for the Metropolitan district, telegraphed Albert B. Cummins accusing the Association of Railway Executives of blocking a settlement. He singled out T. Dewitt Cuyler and I. F. Lewee for allegedly manipulating the group to push open shop policies, warning there can be no peace while the association exists. Executives declined to comment.
