James C. Prifogel a farmer twelve miles southeast of Rushville Indiana shot himself five times through the body with a thirty two caliber revolver He feared robbery of a large sum of money and refused bank deposits He left a wife and children and his mind was unbalanced by worry
Herman Koch a West Main street chair maker was holding a lighted lamp when his beard caught fire. Fire spread to the building. the fire department and medical aid responded. Property loss was small but Koch was seriously burned on face arms and body.
Wond reached Gallipolis Ohio today of the death of A McDaniel a wealthy farmer whose mind was unsettled after unknown parties dynamited a merry go round he had built on his pleasure grounds near McDaniel in the county. He was declared insane by Probate Judge Ingels and sent to Athens Hospital where he died.

Dr Lucius D Leach a Rochester dentist who left home with 255 money appeared in police court penniless and wearing a coat stolen from Secretary Kinney He claimed Newark woman robbed him but Kinney declined to prosecute and faced a separate political contest pending.
In Parkerburg West Virginia on August 19 the board rested the Stathers case and acquitted him amid questions. Miss Hattie Green testified to admissions about censured intimacy while denying an implied affair. Prosecution plans five additional charges to be filed and presented at the October board meeting.
Toledo August 19 Mayor Jones announced he will run as a nonpartisan candidate for governor. Petitions from private individuals reach over 12,000, with notified and unreceived totals about 40,000. State law requires only 9,000 petitioners to place his name on the ticket.
Dessie Garrett, 20, was killed in Columbus on Broad street when biking to avoid a hay wagon. Her heel was struck by a trolley car, she was run over, and her skull crushed.
