Death Toll Rises From Licking River Tragedy in Kentucky
Four members of the Yelton family from Campbell County Kentucky died in the Licking River after Evelyn Yelton 7 slipped into a forty foot hole while trying to rescue fish and her siblings Clifford 14 and Esther 12 disappeared. Roland Yelton 32 his wife and the mother of the brood attempted to save them but the father drowned after his heart failed. The bodies of Clifford and Evelyn were found as rescuers searched the river and the family waited at a local amusement park for news as torchlight illuminated the water.
