Gang attack leads to officer shooting in Florence Flint area
A gang of sixteen beat Asby Taylor and shot Martin Stevens during a pursuit by Patrolmen Weimann and Morton near Flint and Denman streets. Stevens, a 40 year old driver, was wounded in the calf. Three suspects Rhodes Cornelius Koch were arrested for disorderly conduct. Ashley Taylor aided as a witness. Stevens described hearing shots and being struck as he tried to reach cover. Stevens was taken to City Hospital for treatment.
