The Rev. Walter Coveyou 34 a Passionist priest from Cincinnati was killed April 24 in Chenki Hunan China. Two other Passionist missionaries Rev. Clement Reybold and Rev. Godfrey Holbein were slain in the same action. The uprising followed rebel forces led by Gen Yeh Chi opposing Gen Lu at To Pang with troops brought from Japan by Chang Tsung Chang.
