Thomas F. Kethcum alias Black Jack, famed Southwest outlaw, was hanged in Clayton New Mexico for train robbery. The seven foot drop severed his head in the stockade scaffold as about 150 spectators watched. He spoke little, cursed the railroads and lawmen, and claimed the real Black Jack remained at large.
