French aviator Jules Vedrines was killed during a nonstop attempt from Vallacoublay to Rome when his plane crashed at Les Fouihouses. the mechanician also died and the mail sack he carried was found among the wreckage.

Gallipolis Ohio April 21 Sergeant Alfred Mayes who served with the Thirty seventh Division was killed this evening when an automobile owned by J W Miller carrying soldiers from Camp Sherman plunged over an embankment near the city Mayes had received his discharge today.
A group of fifty American officers and 150 enlisted men who were formerly journalists arrived in Cologne by special train. They are touring battlefields and bridge heads as guests of the American expeditionary forces.
