Dr. I D Rogers of a Wells Street maternity hospital defends a serum birth claim while denying exploitation. A legislative inquiry disclosed hospital profits and alleged coercive adoption advertising. Witnesses described free lists funded by admissions and patients recruited via solicitors and ads.
Pittsburg residents erupt over Superintendent Heeter’s return to duty. A 1000 strong East End mob surrounded his home, police arrested 12 ringleaders, and 1500 youths burned Heeter in effigy at Fortieth and Main. Schools statewide walkouts ensue, parents escort children home amid chants to remove Heeter. An official Board review of charges is expected.
Marion Colorado April 21 Attorney General Hogan opposed the short ballot proposal calling it a plan by visionaries to elect only one executive and have them appoint all other officers. He warned of permanent bossism, urged faithful law enforcement, and argued for fewer, stronger laws.

Executors named include J P Morgan the son Herbert L Satterlee W P Hamilton and Lewis Cass Ledyard. Mrs Morgan and three daughters waive citation. The real and personal property is stated as over 10000 in the petition for probate filed shortly before 11 o'clock.
Charles F. Baker, former assistant cashier of Crocker National Bank, was sentenced in U S District Court to ten years in San Quentin for peculations totaling $27 000. Forty counts were charged in the indictment, twenty were stricken out, and the bank was protected by a blanket insurance contract.
