Woman Dies Likely From House Fire on East Third Street
A fatal blaze at 326 East Third street started around 12 10 this morning in a furnished room building. Alice Regan 25 wife of John Regan and occupant Harry Perkins 48 sustained burns. Patrolman Charles Ward 26 was injured by a collapsing stair. Baby John Regan 9 months old also burned. Fire caused panic in adjoining tenement and was not insured. The fire is believed to have started from spontaneous combustion in an old mattress.

Incendiary Torch Strikes Hyde Park Again on Shaw Avenue
A new two and a half story frame residence at 3550 Shaw avenue owned by Francis Diehl burned at about eight last night. Flames issued from the unfinished building amid coal oil odor. Fireman from Engine Company 46 controlled the blaze with about five hundred dollars in damage. Diehl offered three hundred dollars reward for the arsonist increasing total rewards to eight hundred dollars. He planned a meeting of Hyde Park builders to organize patrols for houses under construction. Since last summer seventy six fires have occurred in the suburb, most incendiary in origin.
