Avondale M. E. Church pastor to direct activities under Angora government on a nonsectarian basis. A group labeled "Y" plans to carry on later and establish clubs during the mission.
Arthur Nash of Cincinnati urges tolerance toward Turkey and support for Y M C A style clubs there. He cites Koran text aligning with Christian ethics and pledges 25 000 for year one and 50 000 annually for five years to back mission efforts led by Rev John Bayne Ascham aimed at establishing Turkish and Near East youth clubs under Turkish education ministry.
Dr. Ascham, pastor at Avondale Methodist Episcopal Church since 1916, told his congregation he intends to go to Turkey to organize Y M C A style clubs. He may take a leave of absence late this year as Near East work plans develop. he has prior WWI chaplain service and travels in the region in 1922 and 1923.
Chicago April 19 Raymond Baker 25 and his sister in law Violet Raymond were found murdered after a car ride. Mrs Baker and their three year old son discovered the bodies. Police search for John Ray husband of the separated wife.
A severe storm with tornado like winds struck Peoria and nearby areas causing two deaths and about 500000 dollars in damage. The Isaac Walker Hardware building burned from lightning as George Wonder died a watchman. Wheeling West Virginia and other towns reported ten injuries, two serious, with roofs blown off and cars damaged.
A sweeping storm across Pennsylvania from southwest to northeast caused heavy property damage, swollen streams, and blocked highways. Two injuries were reported. fires from lightning damaged property exceeding 150000 dollars. Towns affected include Greensburg Bradford Johnstown Altoona Harrisburg Lewistown State College and Towanda. A man and his eight year old son were severely injured near State College when their house toppled.
Towns in eastern Ohio report severe storm damage as a noon wind and rain storm blacks out lights demolishes roofs and shatters windows. Light frame structures were blown from their foundations and carried away.
A storm ripped the roof from the Christian Church located five miles from Woodfield, carrying it about 100 yards into a nearby field. Worshipers were inside at the time but no injuries were reported.
A heavy rain hail storm with high winds hit Cambridge Ohio at noon. Several garages were blown down and two houses had roofs torn off. Dozens of trees fell across the city snapping telephone wires. No deaths or injuries were reported but communications to many small communities were crippled and numerous silos barns and trees were blown down.
A violent thunder storm swept Cincinnati yesterday morning with a 25 mile per hour wind. Property damage occurred in Ohio Illinois West Virginia and Pennsylvania while Cincinnati reported no damage. The day was cloudy and fair with temperatures rising to 81 degrees. the second highest this year.

William Roy Wilder, a prominent New York lawyer and longtime Princeton alumnus who studied with Woodrow Wilson, died tonight at his home. He was 67 and a leader in alumni activities for many years.
Lancaster Kentucky April 19 A wealthy farmer Mason H Pollard 52 ends his life by hanging after a fatal car collision that killed Minnie Shearer a neighbor girl who ran into the road to save her pet chicken Pollard who helped at the scene later died before a doctor arrived He had not slept since the incident and surrendered to authorities but was not held responsible.
D. D. Kohle a 38 year old professional parachute jumper was killed at a flying field near Tulsa Oklahoma this afternoon. His parachute opened and checked the fall then closed causing a fall of more than 700 feet to the ground.
An unidentified man employed in Pere Marquette Railroad yards near Monroe Mich. was burned to death in a boarding car after a gasoline stove exploded and started the fire. Two other men in the car escaped unharmed.
