Benedict Gimbel wealthy Philadelphia merchant lies unconscious in St Marys Hospital Hoboken after wounds from self inflicted cuts. Police say he attempted suicide at the Palace Hotel after arrest on charges of improper influence and attempted bribery related to a 16 year old boy.

John B. Bundren, age 101, to marry Rose McGuire near Tatesville Tennessee on August 26. Bundren, once wealthy in California, has lifelong ties to Tennessee and plans a reunion on his estate. He will escort the bride from England to her 100th birthday wedding anniversary. Best man will be John B. Bundren of St. Louis.
James Morton shot Fount Rose three times with a pistol near Indian Fields in eastern Kenton County. Rose died instantly. Morton fled to a neighbor before deputies arrested him. Morton, about 40, claims self defense. examining trial set for Tuesday.
