Vermillion man shoots wife then kills himself
Upton Darby a 67 year old wealthy retiree in Vermillion Ohio shot his wife 60 then killed himself after attempting to kill her. The shot misfired wounding Mrs Darby in the head while Darby died from a self inflicted wound. The couple were alone in the house when the tragedy occurred.

At Lesage West Virginia a car rolled from a ferry into the Ohio River killing Mrs John Poling 24 and an infant.
