Elks Buy Bedford Hotel for National Home

Roanoke news confirms the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks purchased the Hotel Bedford in Bedford City. The building will be converted into a National Elks Home. The price is reported as $11,000 with Bedford City on the Norfolk and Western Railway between Roanoke and Lynchburg.

Student shoots Russian Interior Minister in St Petersburg lobby

In St Petersburg on April 15 the Minister of the Interior M Sipiaguine was shot five times by a student named Balsahansti as he handed him a paper from the Grand Duke.
