In St. Louis on April 5 a mob pursued Lafayette Chandler a Black man who had wounded Sheriff Dicker of St Charles County after several surrender attempts Chandler was shot multiple times and then burned to death in a barn set on fire by the mob ending the pursuit around noon.
Washington reports confirm Felix Diaz has landed in Mexico and leads a sizable force in the south aided through Guatemala. A propaganda effort near the US Mexico border is noted while Diaz’s arms sources remain unclear. Officials say he received substantial New York financial aid and that a lieutenant was traced to Canada, with another recent departure for Spain.
Arrivals in Columbus New Mexico bring tales of hard marching in Chihuahua as American soldiers pursue Villa.
