Laundry Fumes Fatal to Boy in Mother's Home
Coroner was notified of the death by suffocation of Albert Martin 17 at 514 East Thirteenth Street yesterday afternoon. Katharine Martin, the sister, said the boy sat in the kitchen as a tub of clothes boiled, filling the room with smoke and leaving his body slumped in a chair. Dr J P Beneke pronounced death from suffocation noting boiled-out water and fumes from scorched linen contributed to the tragedy.
