Columbus results show Republicans victorious in most races led by the City Council and School Board. N W Dick defeats Moses Earnhart for Police Judge by 608. Gladden loses to Miles by 76. Overall turnout 22,915 with gas franchise approval and $350,000 market-house bond defeated.
In Cleveland Ohio on April 2 the Republicans secured a sweeping victory led by Thomas H Bell over Samuel Briggs for School Directorship by about 8000 votes. Bell also led early returns with over twice Briggs and May combined. Kennedy won Police Court Judge by around 4000 votes. Republicans captured Police Clerk two Justices of the Peace four School Council seats and majority control of the City Council.
VAN WERT Ohio April 2 Municipal election returns show Republicans winning key posts. Mayor James 8. Smith Democrat leads, while Clerk Hardy C. Redrup Edward C. Stitz as Republican solicitor, A Grablatoff Democrat street commissioner, Fred Hott Democrat marshal, J M Homan Republican sealer of weights and measures, and four Republican councilmen W B Mire Robert F Hite Simon Wyndt C B Noel.
The April 2 election yielded the greatest Republican win in the city’s history. Blackmore, Republican, defeated Democrat George Haynes for Mayor by 492 votes. All five Republican candidates for City Council were elected.
A light turnout in Newark Ohio produced Democrat Herbert Atherton as mayor by a 205 vote plurality. Republicans won two School Board seats and one Council seat while Democrats took three School Board seats and seven Council seats.
In Delaware Ohio on April 2 Republicans swept the ticket winning Trustee Frank Jones Clerk Walter Ryder Justice Wayman Perfect Constable James Finley and others with Mayor John McClure (Dem) re elected and William Matthews Solicitor Charles Knight Street Commissioner William Williams Cemetery Trustee Dr E M Hall among those selected.
Lorain Ohio reports the largest vote of about 3000 cast for the mayoral race with George L. Glitsch leading on the Republican ticket and the full Republican slate favored by roughly 600 votes in the plurality.
In Celina Ohio on April 2 the entire Democratic ticket won except the First Ward Councilman seat. Winners include Mayor Edward Landfair, Marshal Thomas Houser, Clerk Ralph Leblond, Treasurer Andy Grothjan, Water Works Trustee 8.8 S. Scranton. Justices of the Peace Frank Short and Clarence Marsh. Clerk Charles Bohrer. Trustee Daniel Myer. Constable Lewis Brandon.

The Cyrus brothers allegedly shot after Lee Pearl Perdue assaulted their father Henry Cyrus. The Cyrus brothers fled to Kentucky, warrants issued, Sheriff Booth pursuing.
Sig Columbo former President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies was re elected today with 265 votes to 158 for Sig Bianchieri. Parliament will be prorogued after the election of Parliamentary Secretaries as ongoing business is deemed impossible. Colombo and associates strengthen the Ministry.
The Prince of Wales held a levee at St James Palace in London on April 2. Crowds observed fine weather as arrivals included Lord Salisbury, Joseph Chamberlain, cabinet ministers, US Charge dAffaires Henry D. White, and members of the US Embassy. Mrs Emma Curren of Cowan pleaded guilty in the Muncie Circuit Court to shoplifting from three big dry goods stores. Judge Sffler sentenced her to five days in jail and a $5 fine due to her connections and standing in the community. A home search uncovered a large quantity of stolen goods.
