Rumors afloat claim saloonkeepers will pay the dow tax and then clash as tensions rise over Huerta. Reports say foreign refugees are fleeing, awaiting the United States to decide its next move. A new rebellion with entirely new leaders is reportedly in preparation.
The AMERICAN presents two photographs showing the canal at its beautiful side to argue for removal. It contends the canal is a blot on Cincinnati and a danger to civic health, urging a boulevard and subway as alternatives. The paper declares its intention to present reasons for and against, but insists the canal must go.
Special to The American reports that all members of the defending Federal garrison were killed before Constitutionalist forces captured Victoria the capital of Tamaulipas. General Pablo Gonzales said the battle was among the bloodiest of the project revolution and was reported from Matamoros tonight.
Mexico City reports Dictator Huerta states no change in relations with the United States and that any action altering ties must originate in Washington. He denied moving residence to Chapultepec Castle and spoke after a motor ride through Chapultepec Park.
Foreign refugees mainly Americans rush to Vera Cruz by train amid reports rebels advance on Orizaba. Government secrecy and Huerta’s moves spark panic as Blanquet allegedly consolidates power after Huerta exits the National Palace.

Special to American. Edward Duncan of Quitlin Missouri went to the home of his divorced wife Lula Taylor now married to Stillman Taylor in Peetha on November 18. Duncan shot and killed both Lula Taylor and Stillman Taylor. He stated he wants to be executed.
San Diego reports Lincoln Beachey the aviator repeated Pegoud style feats today by climbing to 3500 feet from North Island and executing a head down descent. He lifted front elevators at 1000 feet to rise from a swoop and completed the loop while inverted, then turned the craft twice as vertical flight resumed.
Paul Reed, one of five Covington jail escapees from November 5, was captured in Portsmouth. Reed faces murder charges for a killing at Twelfth and Banklick streets Covington and is held for trial. Earlier he attacked a turnkey with a catsup bottle.
In North Manchester six prisoners forced entry into a vacant cell used to store confiscated liquor from a recent raid. They destroyed a door lock and disposed of most of the liquor, undermining the prosecutors case.
Piqua Ohio November 18 Wallace Argabright 40 was wounded when a loaded shotgun discharged while he was pulling it from a wagon during corn husking near Rosewood Accompanied by his employer Joseph Lovett Lovett stopped the bleeding gave first aid at Rosewood and Argabright was hospitalized in Piqua in serious condition

Many people were reported injured when the Seminole Limited on the Milwaukee Central Railroad left the track three miles south of Jasper Alabama today. The engine and cars were toppled.
Special to The American reports an explosion in No. 2 mine of the Alabama Fuel and Iron Company in Acton Alabama. Between twenty five and forty miners were entombed with six dead removed by 8 o'clock and three rescued alive.
Leo Ostner of St Louis received a parcel with C O D charges of 1 05 dollars paid, opened it to find a wood block and a receipt stating cash borrowed 1 00 five cents interest from J J Evers Glendale Store. Ostner admits borrowing the money but says it was to settle another deal. He sees no way to collect from Uncle Sam.
