Havana Cuba October 31 The Mexican gunboat Zaragoza sails after weather delays carrying one member of the special Mexican Embassy to Japan who was arrested at Vera Cruz for disobeying orders to stay in Havana. The mission head General Felix Diaz accompanied the envoy to Mexico. Destination unknown with rumors of Vera Cruz return or confinement in Quintana Roo prisons.
The extradition case against Thaw will end soon with Governor Pelker stating no further continuances will be granted. He announced the trial will close Thursday and a decision will follow promptly afterward.
