Cincinnati city council again refused to suspend rules to post ordinances cutting salaries for Dr. Otto Geier charity and correction head and the water works superintendent. An amendment to reduce Geier from 6000 to 4500 was approved after Safety Director Holmes requested it, amid arguments that city savings require department head adjustments.
Avondale council committee failed to pick a site for a new fire and police station at an open hearing. A site visit to two offered locations is planned for Monday morning with Safety Director Holmes accompanying the committee. One proposed site is on Clinton Springs Avenue near the current Bond Hill fire station.
