Wheeler predicts nationwide Prohibition as movement gains pace
Otto Wheeler of the Ohio Anti Saloon League told a Walnut Hills congregation that 560 villages and cities have adopted prohibition and 45 leagues have voted out saloons. He said ten dry states will endorse the amendment and 20 more with few saloons will ratify in four to five years, aiming for a national constitutional prohibition. He noted New York City has more saloons than enough states to pass the amendment and urged local actions to curb open saloons. Wheeler planned to speak in Mason before returning to Columbus.
