A man registering as Othello Willard killed his wife and their two year old at the Walton Hotel 537 Walnut Street at 1:30 this morning. He fled through the hotel and down Walnut Street bystanders fled as he fired a pistol before being captured near the Suspension Bridge. He claimed to be a nomad and registered as Hubert M Willard. He appeared intoxicated and was taken to the Second District station. The victims were found in a bloodstained room with shots fired through the right temple and the infant cradled in the mother’s arms. The suspect resisted police, offering his revolver to a passerby and assaulting an officer before being overpowered. The note to his supposed wife indicated a mail to bearer. The case is under investigation.
Man Bequeaths Body to Science After 18 Story Leap
Chicago reports Joseph Kelter a Broommaker of 1063 Washington boulevard leaped from the eighteenth floor of the Masonic Temple and left a letter requesting his body be given to science.
