Ignace votes on nuclear waste site host role in April push
Hundreds of Ignace residents and property owners aged 16 and over cast ballots at the curling hall and online from April 26 to 30 on whether to continue participating as a potential host for a deep geological repository. The vote seeks to guide a consultant’s June report and eventual site selection steps with two candidate locations, Revell Lake and South Bruce, and a year-end decision by the Nuclear Waste Management Organization.
