Free heat pumps offered to low income Ontario households
Ontario IESO allocates 40 million to provide 2,500 free heat-pump units for electric heat homes. Units install with a 10 year warranty and can cut electricity bills by about 50 percent. Eligibility uses income thresholds and assessments. program runs through 2024 under IESO affordable energy initiative.
