Ontario auditor exposes nonconsensual long term care placements
Ontario's auditor general found at least 99 hospital patients were placed in long term care homes without consent under a 2022 law. About 7,357 alternate level of care patients were moved, with 60 percent placed in lower ranked homes and 40 percent in first choices. 99 went to coordinators chosen homes.
