Thunder Bay area students face suspensions over vaccines
Public health officials say they will continue to work hard to keep Thunder Bay District students up to date with immunizations to avoid suspensions. The Health Unit notes suspensions are a last resort after all attempts to resolve record discrepancies fail. parents receive mail notices and vaccination options before actions are taken. Routine clinics for grades 7 and 8 are offered twice yearly across the region with exemptions possible for medical or religious reasons upon formal application.
