Alberta couple reflect on decades of sculptures
Alberta couple Don and Shirley Begg run Studio West Bronze Foundry in Cochrane. Over 54 years they created 160 statues and hundreds of smaller pieces for Canada, the US, Germany, and France. They sculpt public figures, Indigenous leaders, and a 430 kilogram Gretzky statue, among other works. Begg will receive the Alberta Order of Excellence in October.
