Ned Wilcox Elected Superintendent

At Cheteau school district trustees meeting Ned Wilcox was unanimously chosen superintendent of the Cheteau public school for the coming year. Wilcox, already superintendent of both public and high schools of Verrand Mion, is a Teton county native and a graduate of the local high school.

Public Library Notes Ask for Reader Donations

Induction of Recruits Seven More Enter Mobilization

Forty three registrants from Teton county were inducted into service and trained for mobilization camps on Wednesday the 27th. Inductees include Edmond M. Bammell Jens A Holmboe Harry H Peterson and others from Montana Wyoming and Florida. Call numbers for land division signal corps and engineer corps were canceled. Medical and infantry camps remain open for induction.

Induction Calls Issued For Local Registrants

Registrants in Teton county urged to contact the Local Board at Chateau for service in multiple branches. Calls specify Medical Department at Fort Riley Kansas and Infantry at Camp Greene North Carolina, with other units including Spruce Production aviation section at Vancouver Barracks Washington and Coast Artillery at Fort Logan Colorado. Only white men may be sent under these calls.

Allison Garrett Dead in Gansman Coulee

Allison Garrett, a long-time Bynum resident, died of heart failure at the home of John A. Gist in Gansman coulee south of Dugover on Saturday afternoon last week. He was about 56, born in Lebanon Pennsylvania. Funeral services were held in Bynum Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. Kelley of the M. Sk. church, with interment in Bynum cemetery.

A committee including Cole Farrington Coffey Oulton Malone was formed to discuss bridges over Birch and Badger creeks on the Blackfeet Indian reservation.
