Burglary at Haugen Store Involves Local Youths
A week ago Wednesday afternoon Haugen’s store was broken into by two boys, one linked to a prior burglary. Over the past week five local youths pocketed tobacco cigars gum candy canned lunch goods and flannel shirts. Entry was through a south door nailed shut earlier and backed by shelving. Sheriff Martine found the back door unlocked during morning inspections, with evidence the gang had entered several times. The sheriff's force captured the culprits, recovered most items, and the boys agreed to pay the rest.

Ford Car Crash South of Poor Farm Causes Two Injuries

Last Monday about twenty Choteau citizens attended the Commercial Club meeting at the club rooms. J C Morgan outlined committee appointments as County Agent Clarkson warned grasshopper funds are nearly exhausted and a relief fund is sought. A Rhoads Guthrie Hirshberg trio will explore financing options. An invitation went to the Farm Bureau for a park picnic and the American Legion offered its pavilion. Meeting adjourned to reconvene at the president's call.

First radio owner in Chateau ships out to Yellowstone Park
Lloyd Hansen left Wednesday for Yellowstone Park and may own the first radio in Chateau capable of receiving programs from different outfits. He built his set in Bozeman where he has studied at the college for two years and worked as an operator of the college station.
