Choteau Band Stars At U C T Convention In Great Falls

The Chateau band led by John Holland joined the United Commercial Travelers convention in Great Falls attended by traveling men statewide. John M. Weaver organized about 135 dollars to cover band expenses. Gov. Stewart, militia escorts, and a parade highlighted the event with Choteau praised for its self supporting band and dignified conduct.

County board approves road and bridge projects and staff changes

The county commissioners weeklong actions include opening the road west from the poor farm to the mountains and building a bridge across the Teton river once material is obtained. Deputies Miltz and Hughes requested higher salaries, which were denied. Grace Thompson, county superintendent, granted a 30 day leave. A July 10 hearing on a school district No 5 appeal was scheduled, and the board authorized members and the county surveyor to attend the Helena meeting with the state highway commission on June 14 15 at county expense. Special meetings will be held at Conrad Valier and Cut Bank next week.
