Harris Arrested on Serious Charge
Carl Harris, who has been running the restaurant at the Commercial Hotel, was arrested on a warrant by deputy state humane officer A. E. DeCew of Great Falls. He is charged with raping his six year old daughter Gladys Harris. Harris is in the county jail awaiting preliminary examination likely tomorrow with time to hire an attorney in Great Falls.

Kennedh G. McLean former Choteau resident died at his Riverside California home after a Mayo Clinic transfusion and months of ill health. He had managed the Choteau Mercantile Co Strain Bros and owned the Farmers elevator here. Survived by a wife and four children. Funeral plans not announced. burial likely in California.

Sam Sollid of Conrad, a prosperous Montana real estate figure, enlisted as a private in the engineers corps and is training to serve in Europe. He cited his good fortune in America and refused any pull, asking to be placed where he could best aid the war effort.
