Wheat Harvest Yields Mixed Across Collins Area
After cutting the wheat crop a post harvest check shows yields of only 18 bushels on some fields near Collins. Farmers report similar low results in spots, while nearby farms reach record levels. Frost chemicals and wheat variety are suspected factors, but spraying is ruled out as the sole cause. Some county farms still report high bushel per acre yields, with many fields rated very good or only fair.
