The 20th annual Days of ’49 runs from tomorrow to Saturday at the city park pavilion with gambling games, carnival favorites, lunch counter and country store. Farmers must file their Federal bus tax refund by Oct 1 to claim refunds for the two cent Federal excise tax on gasoline used on farms through July 1. The Montana Crop Report cites a 1956 wheat crop of 71 586 000 bushels worth about 138 876 840 dollars at 1 94 per bushel. Winter durum and spring totals are 19 862 000, 15 584 000, and 36 140 000 bushels respectively with yields improving due to favorable rains and August weather. The all crop harvest is pegged at 2 719 000 tons, up from last year’s 3 054 000 tons.

Mrs. Alice Sampson died Saturday September 15 at Teton County Rest Home at age 84. She spent most of her life in St Paul and moved to Choteau with her daughter three years ago. Survived by two daughters, three sisters, two brothers, 23 grandchildren and 60 great grandchildren.
