Bulldogs- Indians Clash Friday on Chateau Field

Chateau's Bulldogs seek a third straight win Friday night as they host the Browning Indians in a key conference matchup. The Indians rallied to beat Conrad 16-13 in OT behind Clarence Gilham who also contributed with a 22-yard field goal. Ed Bond led the Indian defense with 12 tackles.

Bus Hearing Set in Great Falls for October 4

Public Service Commission will hold a 10 a.m. hearing October 4 in Great Falls to consider James Von Gunten’s bus service proposal from Great Falls through Chateau to Browning and East Glacier. Von Gunten operates as Red River Valley Stage and a protest could end the service if the PSC rules for opponents.

Setback for Teton County Clinic Plans

Teton County Commissioners face a legal hurdle in building a medical clinic tied to the new Teton Medical Center at Chateau. An Attorney General opinion dated Sept 6 says counties lack authority to construct such facilities with office and lab space for doctors or to use federal revenue sharing funds for this purpose. No further action has been taken as officials study options.

Bill Hitchcock Services Held on Saturday

Funeral services for William Hitchcock 67 were held Saturday in the Choteau United Methodist Church with Rev Dyer Morgan officiating. He died September 14 at Teton Medical Center and is buried in Choteau Cemetery with military graveside rites by the American Legion. Survivors include his widow two sons and three daughters with several siblings.

Punt Pass & Kick Contest Set For October 1 At Choteau

Youths ages 8 to 13 may sign up at Choteau Ford Sales for the Punt Pass & Kick competition to be held Saturday October 1 at 1 p.m. on the Choteau High football field. Fish Poisoning Planned for Eureka and Nilan Lakes

Bill Till of the Montana Fish and Game Department announced plans to poison Eureka and Nilan reservoirs to eliminate trash fish. Nilan will probably be poisoned around month end and Eureka in early October, with a definite date published beforehand.

Mrs Reynolds Saves Life In Clinic Heimlich Maneuver

Dr. John Wilcox reports a young child’s life was saved last week by Mrs. Lee Reynolds who quickly performed the Heimlich maneuver in a local clinic. The child choked on candy and was rescued before others could act, demonstrating the procedure’s effectiveness.
