County Agent Rob ert Clarkson spoke at the Liberty Center Home Demonstration club meeting near Chateau about turkey diseases including blackhead tuberculosis tapeworm and necro bacillosis. He described blackhead as an infectious turkey disease with high mortality in young birds and long course in adults noting post mortem liver spots and enlarged ceca, and said no specific remedy exists.

C. S. McDonald of this city learns of his mother Electa McDonald’s death in Riverside California after a brief illness. Born August 22 1837 in Ecosauqua Iowa she was the widow of Sterling McDonald and survived by four children Lola Sleeth Charles S McDonald Oliver Kenneth McLean Smith. Funeral set for Friday in Riverside.

A letter from Mrs. A M Rose of Longview Washington reports J H Devlin a longtime Colfax and Chateau area rancher died at Memorial hospital Longview on the last day of August from a ruptured appendix He was 78 years old He moved from Colfax to Montana in 1896 and back to the Palouse in 1919 His survivors include his wife Violet A Devlin and four children W C Devlin P H Devlin Mrs Angus M Rose and Mrs Harry Brouillette All four children live in Longview Also ten grandchildren and one great grandchild are named The death follows three family losses in nine months with W C Devlin losing a son and Mr and Mrs Brouillette losing a baby daughter.
