Pioneer builder Peder R. Lee dies at 65 in Great Falls
Peder R. Lee, 65, longtime Great Falls resident and public servant, died Tuesday night in a local hospital. Born 1910 in Nostdal Nord, he built schools in the valley area and served as county commissioner for 25 years. He was a charter member of the Sons of Norway and leaves a son Robert, plus siblings and a niece. Memorials may be given to a fund in lieu of flowers.

The Rev. E E Tollefson pastor of American Lutheran church Lat Fairfield is appointed county chairman for the All Lutheran Food Appeal in 1954. The drive, led by Lutheran World Relief and the National Lutheran Council, asks farmers to donate the fruit of their fields to feed hungry people in Europe and Asia. Volunteers will collect wheat after harvest and distribute aid regardless of faith or politics. Since WWII Lutheran World Relief has sent over 34 million dollars in aid to 26 countries.
