Golf Tournament Set for Sunday at Chateau Course

The annual city golf tournament will be held Sunday, Sept. 12 at the Chateau golf course. Open to all club members, men and women. Registration at 12:30 p.m. tee-off around 1 p.m. Two rounds determine flight winners. A bring your own steak fry follows, with the committee providing the rest of the meal.

CHS Girls Basketball Sets Fresh Team Roster and Schedule

Coach Lee Reynolds reports 24 girls auditioned for CHS basketball including four seniors Jacque Jensen Susie Linville Dru Nordhagen and Laura Stott plus JoAnn Walker Carol Austin and others. Season opener is Sept 17 at home against Centerville with a return the next day. The schedule lists home and away games through December including conference matchups and the Northern Division tournament at Havre and the State Tournament.

Fish and Game Buys Ward Sibley Ranch West of Choteau

The Montana Fish and Game Commission bought over 2500 acres at the foot of Ear Mountain along the Rockies east slope. Director Wesley Woodgerd announced the $100 per acre purchase mainly for big game habitat including mule deer elk bighorn sheep mountain goats and grizzlies. The land provides access to eastern Forest lands and will be open for hunting and other recreation during seasons.

Bible Study Class Offered by United Methodist Church

The Chateau United Methodist Church sponsors a Bible study class at Skyline Lodge open to the public. Classes meet every Wednesday at 10 15 AM. A spokesman says the course helps turn life’s stress into opportunities and welcomes all to attend.

Rorrie Toren Benefit Dance Scheduled at Chateau Pavilion

A benefit dance for Rorrie Toren will be held Saturday September 18 at 9 30 p m in the Chateau pavilion with the Toenyes Family orchestra. Admission by donation funds go to the Toren family to help cover expenses from a recent accident in which Rorrie sustained a broken back riding a bucking horse.

Missile Marauder Big Foot Keep Sheriff's Officers Busy

The Teton County Sheriff's Office searched nearby hills after a man with a rifle was seen near a missile site at Malmstrom Air Base. A few days later Mr and Mrs Russell Cox reported a large bipedal creature near Bynum. No tracks were found and authorities urge residents to report unusual sightings promptly.

Choteau Consumer Day streamlines learning for county residents

Reserve No. 6 hosts Teton County Consumer Day at the Choteau pavilion with an all-day schedule. Heart Monitor Fund Reaches 13200 Goal

Teton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary reports the heart monitoring system fund has met its $13 000 goal. Additional memorial donations will stay in the fund or support another hospital device. Donations since the last report came from Knudtzon Lumber Company Crawford Ranch Mea dowlarks 4 H Club Teton Trail 4 H Club and others. Memorials honor Mary Krapa Ike Denison Marlene Hofeldt and other local residents. Equipment ordered will be installed at the hospital when it arrives.
