Teton County Funds Montana Exhibit for Chicago Show
Teton county will contribute 25 dollars to a fund for a Montana exhibit at the Chicago International Hay and Train Show this November. The appropriation is authorized by the board of county commissioners and the State Department of Agriculture, Labor and Industry will prepare the display to showcase Montana grain and grass products to attendees.

Fairfield Man Committed To State Asylum
Christian C. Field, longtime Fairfield resident, was committed to the state asylum for the insane at Warm Springs by order of Chairman W D Jones after a board hearing. Tests by physicians H W Bateman and E B Maynard cited his disordered faculties and persecutory hallucinations affecting his conduct. Field said he has a 17 year old son nearby and no county property, and friends lament his condition.

Kaniksu Forest Fire Devastates One Fifth of Timber
E H Myrick reports about one fifth of the Kaniksu Forest burned from mid July to late August. Lightning sparked 170 fires on July 12 and 18, overwhelming crews and drawing outside aid. The Quartz Creek and Granite Creek fires burned tens of thousands of acres, but Roosevelt Cedars were saved.

Dr J F Ashley of Collins Dies After Stroke at 66
Dr J F Ashley a Collins resident and homeopathic physician aged 66 died last Saturday at Glenloyd hospital Chateau from a stroke suffered two weeks earlier. He lived with the N W Edwards family near Collins for 13 years after moving from Colorado. He owned land near Collins and had relatives in Berkeley California and Atchison Kansas. Funeral plans assign burial at Great Falls unless the sister opts east. Wim Hansen of Judith Gap visited Choteau last Saturday.
