Annual Flower Show Plans Boost Teton County Event
Plans are complete for the 1926 Flower Show to be held Monday Labor Day at the Legion pavilion in Chateau. The Cho teau Woman's Club invites all flower lovers to display, enjoy lunch, and attend a 50 cent evening dance. Over forty prizes are pledged by Chateau merchants with more expected.

A brief hail storm swept Te ton county Monday near noon causing light damage. Insurance covered minor losses at H Higgins and J I Burch ranches near Chateau. About three bushels per acre were lost at Zion ranch near the buttes and at Bateman ranch near Fairfield. County Agent Clarkson reported no other significant damage.

Community Band Finances Boosted by New Finance Committee
At County Agent Robert Clarkson's office a finance committee was appointed to fund a community band. Dr. H W Bateman chairs the group with J C Morgan R E Nelson Otto Waynild John Edwards. Collins Man Suffered Stroke in Residence Home
J. F. Ashley, 66, of Collins, was found in his room Sunday morning with a severe stroke. He was moved by N. W. Edwards to Glenloyd Hospital in Chateau after being in poor health and under a physician care for the past month.

Liberty touts Kevin oil field as future with 280 acre lease
Jos I Liberty and associates hold a 280 acre lease at Kevin. He, Wm Rice and H Pontic, formerly with W E McGinley in Rice Fulton acreage, sold interests to Julian Californians for three million. Liberty reports two producing wells and a third spotted, with pumping plant installation and projected 75 barrels daily.

The Utah Construction Company of Salt Lake City placed the lowest bid of 1 566 240 on the Beaver Creek dam project, beating seven bidders. Other bids ranged up to 2 140 060 from Callahan Construction Co of St Louis. Work to start within 30 days of acceptance and finish by June 30, 1929, with about 500 workers.

Farmers Get Good Returns On Association Cattle Shipment
One hundred six head of cattle from Ton County shipped August 18 and sold August 23 at the South St. Paul market yielded an average net of 44.67 dollars per head for calves, cows, steers, heifers and bulls. Steers brought 4.50 to 7.25 per hundred, heifers 5.50 to 7.00, cows 3.50 to 7.00, bulls 5.00 to 5.60, and four calves 9 to 10 cents per pound. Shippers were pleased with prices reported by County Agent Robert Clarkson.

Deputy Stops Teen Wedding Over Age Discrepancy
Waven Tuman 22 of Great Falls and Geraldine Baker 18 nearly wed after a license was issued. Deputy clerk Me da McLean, who issued the license, learned the bride’s mother had a prior divorce and a 15 year old age for the bride. She halted the ceremony at the church and sent the couple back home. The license remains uncancelled awaiting possible consent.

Two Year Old Boy Hurt In Horse Corral Incident
The two year old son of Mr and Mrs Martin Rose of the Sprine Valley country is at the Chateau hospital recovering from a broken hip. Parents found him Sunday in the corral after wandering near a horse. it is believed the horse kicked him. He is reported to be getting along nicely.

One Killed One Hurt In Cascade County Car Crash
George Lee formerly of Dallas Texas died when his car struck a bridge railing on the Great Falls highway about six miles southeast of Fairfield in Cascade county. Martin Vigen survived with a broken pelvis while Francis Suiste and Ernest King escaped with scratches and bruises. Lee’s car was demolished and investigators seek his relatives while probing the crash details.

Rural Schools to Start Year Next Tuesday
Rural schools of about sixty districts in Teton county will open for the school year next Tuesday. Most teaching positions are filled and preparations are complete. The Bynum school District No. 12 already opened last Monday, and District No. 65 has run a school for two months in summer.
