Blowout Sends Motorist to Local Hospital
Hollywood California motorist Freene Friedman suffered back injuries after a tire blowout on State Highway 33 five miles south of Chateau. An unnamed passenger was uninjured when the remodel coupe overturned. A 1 1/2 ton truck struck a pickup driven by Ralph Fealko as he turned into a driveway. Brake failure was blamed on the truck and tickets were issued to Chester Leach Sr. and Arnold Beck for defective equipment and unauthorized minor driving.

He began as first principal of Teton County High School in 1901 and later influenced generations through a 1947 reunion of former students. Surviving: daughter Mrs. R. E. Haugen. sons Charles M. Fairfield Farmer Ole Christenson Dies in Great Falls Hospital
Ole Christenson, 13, a Fairfield farmer born October 25 1880 in Norway, died Sunday morning in a Great Falls hospital. Funeral services were held in Great Falls with burial in Highland Cemetery. He resided on a Fairfield area farm for 20 years and is survived by his widow Sigrid a daughter Mrs Chester and several nieces and nephews.

Choteau Council Revises Motel and Hotel Garbage Rates
The Choteau city council on August 2 revised garbage charges for select businesses. Monthly rates set at 50 cents per housekeeping unit and 25 cents per hotel room. Beer and liquor stores drop from $6.00 to $5.00 per month. Notices were mailed to affected establishments.

Norman Barker 41, escapee from Teton county jail, was recaptured in Buffalo Wyoming on Aug 19 after escaping May 12 by sawing bars with blades supplied by an associate. Extradition papers moved swiftly as Barker faced a felony charge for issuing a $75 bad check.

Health officials state that anyone who sells or services septic tanks for pay must be licensed and that anyone who loans out a tank must obtain a permit for each job a county health officer issues the permits. Augusta Woman Dies Buried Last Saturday
Funeral services for Sarah Katherine Kelly 59 of Augusta were held at Community Church of Augusta with Rev. E D Fridley officiating. Burial followed in Augusta Cemetery. She was born March 29 1895 in Buchannon West Virginia and lived in Augusta over 20 years. Rainbow Dam Fire Triggers Blackouts Across Montana
A $200,000 fire at Rainbow Dam near Great Falls caused widespread power outages in north central Montana. Firefighters and Montana Power employees fought the blaze for five hours after a transformer failed. Normal operations resumed Tuesday morning as Black Eagle plants were positioned to handle the load in the region.

Former Resident Found Dead in Car Near Culbertson Harvey
Blaine Hoffman 33 of Great Falls was found dead last Friday in his running car with a hose to the exhaust near Culbertson Harvey. A former Choteau area resident who worked for Vince Ward and Emil Durr he also ran cattle west of Choteau. He was a Great Falls Meat Co salesman and son of Mr and Mrs H B Hoffman born August 14 1921. He graduated from Great Falls High School earned an MSU agriculture degree and ranked high in his class. Hoffman enlisted in 1943 and served in Europe. Memorial services were held at W H George Co Chapel with burial in Highland cemetery Great Falls under Veterans Council.

Paul Lynch of Northampton recently visited Mr and Mrs Gordon Monkman and his wife and two daughters. Lynch heads to Moscow Ida to enter university on the research staff of the Department of Son e Husbandry. He was waist gunner on the plane with Owen Monkman and spent six months in a German prison camp before visiting Monkman’s family in 1950.
