O S Forseth J B Hodgskiss Robert Clarkson and H J Moon plan to attend a two day turkey grading school at the Rainbow hotel in Great Falls. The event aims to teach the U S grading system and marketing details to about 30 local turkey marketing association managers county extension agents and others.

About 200 attended a Tuesday night supper hosted by the Ladies Auxiliary. In a feather party after the meal, 15 turkeys and 15 chickens were awarded to lucky winners.

Teton Hoopsters Open Practice for Season Jousts

The 1930 31 basketball season begins with early noon sessions for those driving home at night and evening workouts for others. Dutton visits Dec 5 in the first conference game on the local floor, with Belt, Conrad, and Simms double headers on the schedule, plus a January trek to Cascade and Centerville. The roster includes Carl Peters, Jim Morgan, Cliff Norris, and Gilmore Hansen among veterans, with promising sophomores and freshmen vying for starting roles.

Nurse Inspecting 292 School Children in September

County Nurse Henrietta Crockett reported in the Chateau Lions club that 292 children and preschoolers were examined in September. Of these, 190 had defects. 62 homes and 16 schools were visited, with 16 classroom talks and multiple home visits. Defect counts included teeth, vision, nose and throat issues, enlarged glands, orthopedic problems, and malnutrition.

Eckford Taken to Mayo Hospital for Further Treatment

James Eckford was taken from the Deaconess hospital to the Mayo Brothers hospital in Rochester Minnesota for further diagnosis and treatment. He is reported as doing nicely and in excellent spirits and was accompanied by Mrs Eckford.

Clarkson to Speak at Club Meetings in Now

County Agent Robert Clarkson is scheduled to speak at home demonstration clubs in November and the following month. He will attend a turkey diseases talk at Agawam on the 6th and assist the Collins club at the Collins community hall on the 19th to shape its program. A new East Pendrey Beach club was formed with 11 members, led by President Mrs. F M Kaupish, Vice President Mrs. Paul Rice, Secretary Mrs. Tumlin, with next meeting at Mrs. H J Moon’s home on Nov 5.

Red Cross Seeks Used Clothes for Teton County Families

Miss Margaret Nagle, county chairman, announces the Red Cross in Teton County seeks suitable used clothing for needy families and Christmas gift items such as books and toys. She says the roll call is progressing well and expects the county to reach its quota.

Askin' Her Father Farce Clears Community Indebtedness

A large crowd from Chateau and nearby areas attended a home talent show and dance in Bole to raise funds. The Negro farce and evening events grossed over 200 dollars, enough to wipe out the remaining debt on the community hall and its piano.

Teton Bulldogs Triumph In Tough Grid Battle

The Teton Bulldogs defeated Conrad 19 to 13 in a hard fought local football game. Morgan scored a TD and passed to Farts while Jones and Peters added scores. Conrad replied with two touchdowns in the third and fourth periods as both teams toil on the field with strong line play and backfield effort.

Mayor Coffey Recalls Choteau History and City Debts

At a Cho teau Woman's club meeting Mayor Geo M Coffey reviewed Choteau's early history from Lewis and Clark to the naming by Pierre Chouteau. He discussed the 1913 incorporation, the bond issue of 159000 for sidewalks sewers water and streets, remaining bonds and the city indebtedness totaling 38000 with an assessed value of 1480517 and taxable value 432987.

Miss Alva Larson Weds Mare Law in Choteau Ceremony

A Saturday wedding in Choteau joined Miss Alva Gertrude Larson daughter of Senator and Mrs T C Larson to Mare Law of Cambridge Massachusetts son of Mr and Mrs S M Law of Lawrence Kansas. The ceremony at the Larson home featured Rev A Lunde and an improvised altar with ferns and white chrysanthemums.

Glasgow Carrier Wins Best Montana Weekly Newspaper

The Glasgow Carrier took first in the Best Montana Weekly Newspaper contest conducted by the Montana State Press Association. The Roundup Record-Tri bune and the Dawson County Review tied for second, with Chateau Acantha in third. Judges included Leon Shaw Tom Stout and J A Gillaly. FT Benton Teton Set for Season Ending Tilt Here

The 1930 high school football season ends Saturday November 22 with Fort Benton meeting Chouteau County on the local field. Coach J Kent Midgett shaped both squads earlier with Art Graber now leading Chouteau, adding intrigue as the rivals clash. weather may delay the game. Graber has three 1931 contests booked including Great Falls Conrad and Lewistown on home turf.

Teton Girls Win 22 Places at Falls 4-H Club Fair

Twelve 4-H club girls from Teton county earned 22 prizes at the district fair in Great Falls. The canning class yielded 15 awards, clothing saw five places, and one entrant, Ethel Briggs of Pendray, earned two muffins prizes in foods.
